Solar Village Custom Zephyr - Granby, Colorado

This home is at 8,200 ft in the beautiful Granby Valley of Colorado.  The home was designed to take maximum advantage of its sunny location.  Free heat is provided by the south facing windows off the central deck.  In fact on a -20 degree last winter (Granby Valley typically records the lowest winter temperatures in the US) the home was a toasty 70 degrees even though the furnace was set at 50 degrees.  Supplemental heat comes from a high efficiency (95%+, 2-stage) furnace and a high efficiency (98%) tankless water heater.

The home incorporates several family heirlomes from their 100+ year old farm in Iowa (including the farm houses original front door (shown below)), so the family heritage can live on in this custom Solar Village vacation home.
