Mark Kostovny is a co-founder of Solar Village and his primary responsibilities include project and sales management, marketing, engineering team oversite, business operations, and integrating green design elements into each project. As a LEED AP for Homes, Mark can also help certify one of the Solar Village Homes for LEED. Mark was on the board for the Center for Resource Conservation for 7 years. The center is focused on educating consumers and developers on the application of renewable, sustainable, and efficient energy and building systems in their homes or developments. He is currently on the board for the Boulder Green Building Guild, an education focused non-profit for furthering the cause of green building.
For 8 years Mark was part of the senior management at Financial Energy Management, and Architectural Energy Corp. He was responsible for marketing, project management, financial modeling and implementing over $10m in efficient building control, HVAC, lighting and other energy conservation system installation projects in major buildings like Children's Hospital, Republic Plaza in Downtown Denver, and the two largest school districts in Colorado (Jefferson County Schools and Denver Public Schools).
He received his MBA in Marketing from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree with a focus on solar design from California State University, Sacramento. He also teaches business marketing to adults at Regis University in Denver.
Alex Platt is a co-founder of Solar Village and his primary responsibilities include architecture, project management, and construction management. Before Solar Village, Alex was a principal and the lead architect with Randall+Platt Associates, a design/development firm in Boulder, Colorado specializing in work/live condos and custom single family homes in new urban communities.
Prior to forming RPA Alex worked with the Denver based architecture firms Hoover Berg Desmond (HBD) and Anderson Mason Dale (AMD). With AMD he served as Job Captain on the US Courthouse Expansion, a $76 Million high rise tower in downtown Denver with significant green design features. At HBD he was the designer on a 47 acre master plan for 1 million square foot office campus in Redmond, Washington. Prior to coming to Colorado, Alex worked with the famous Frank Gehry Associates architecture firm in California on several high profile projects like the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
He received his Masters Degree in Architecture from UCLA and a BA in Philosophy from Pitzer College in Claremont, California.
Charlie Randall is a co-founder of Solar Village and his primary responsibilities include financial analysis, project and budget management, and design optimization. He is also currently running Eco Bank Networks, a financial firm focused on funding "green" projects. Before Solar Village, Charlie was a principal with Randall+Platt Associates (RPA), a design/development firm in Boulder, Colorado specializing in work/live condos and custom single family homes in new urban communities.
Prior to forming RPA Charlie Randall served as Director of Real Estate for Trans-Lux Corporation. While there he managed a $30 million asset base of office, theater and manufacturing and service properties. He also was responsible for overseeing an additional $30 million in major real estate development projects. Before Trans-Lux Charlie was a member of the Ross Consulting Group, a division of Frederick Ross Company, one of Colorado's largest full service real estate firms. As a key analyst at Ross Consulting, Charlie was responsible for investment advice, market analysis, portfolio management and development management services.
He received his MBA in Real Estate from University of Colorado Boulder and an honors degree in English from Pitzer College in Claremont, California.
