For insulation, air sealing and door/window upgrades (which should be priority 1), we have partnered with the leading home comfort specialist, About Saving Heat Co. Since 1975, About Saving Heat has made over 30,000 homes more efficient and comfortable. For solar power (PV) we have partnered with Real Goods Solar, who have provided solar power for over 5000 homes since 1978. No other firm comes close to that number in the USA. We also have additional partners for services ranging from solar hot water to more effficient heating and cooling systems.
The reason you should work with Solar Village is we act as your neutral partner to help you decide which services make the most sense given your budget and time urgency from the various tax credits and rebates. We do not mark up the quotes from our partners, our profit comes from the comissions they would have paid their own sales force.
We offer the following energy and comfort services

- Insulation - this is the first place to start with any home and we can add or improve insulation in walls, basement/crawlpspaces, attics, cathedral ceilings, and more...
- Air Sealing - the best way to eliminate cold and hot drafts by adding caulking, foam sealing, weather stripping, radiant air barriers, filling holes, and more based on your homes' needs
- Improve Doors - weather strip, add storm door, or replace with insulated door.
- Improve Windows - weather strip, add storm window, or replace with energy star windows
- Duct Sealing - typically 20-30% of conditioned air doesn't make it to the air outlets
- Hot Water Conservation - wrap hot water tank with insulated radiative barrier, insulate hot water pipes, replace with tankless water heater.
- Improve Heating and Cooling Efficiency - add setback thermostat, adjust operation temperatures, improve air flow, or replace systems with efficient alternatives
- Ventilation - add more attic vents, whole house fan, heat recovery ventilation system and more...
- Blower Door Tests - pressurize home to find sources of air leaks
